Equinox sells the third Slide Tray Sorter

Equinox has sold the third Slide Tray Sorter since the introduction of this new sorter type at the Logistica 2009. The sorter has proven to fill a gap in the market for multimedia and other small single flat items.

Besides the the allready sold and delivered three Slide Tray Sorter Equinox is happy to have at a lot of interest from different markets like the multimedia market, pharmaceutical market, parcel market and fashion market.

The new Slide Tray Sorter 

The affordable alternative for the traditional Tilt-tray sorter.

After Launching the sorter rental concept Equinox fills in a gap in the market with the Slide Tray Sorter. A welcome alternative for the Oval or Split-tray sorter and traditional tilt-tray sorters. The Slide Tray Sorter can handle a large variety of products and is up to 50% cheaper than the traditional tilt-tray sorters.

With the Slide Tray Sorter products slide out of the tray into a chute. Because of this the Slide Tray Sorter can handle a wide range of different products. The advantage is the delicate way products are discharged. It does not matter if products to be sorted are CD’s, DVD’s, books, parcels, envelopes, small boxes, packed clothes or shoe boxes. The maximum size of the products to be sorted is 500x600x400mm (lxwxh) and the maximum weight is 8kg.

The Slide Tray Sorter is substantially cheaper than several existing sorter solutions in the market. The total difference in price depends on several parameters, like the products to be sorted and the required capacity, but the Slide Tray Sorter can be up to 50% cheaper.

Equinox MHE has high expectations for the Slide Tray Sorter. The first one has already been sold and will soon be delivered. A demo of the Slide Tray Sorter is shown on Logistica 2009. You can find us in Hal 9, stand C017.

Equinox MHE has been granted the order for a double tray Oval Sorter for a customer in Poland. The sorter will be used for sorting fashion goods to shops. The sorter has two manual induction platforms and a capacity of 23.000 items an hour. The sorter has a camera system for automatic reading of barcodes on the products to be sorted and detects full boxes with photo-eyes per discharge location.

Equinox MHE and Schonenberger France have sold a new sorter project in France. This Wide Oval Sorter has over 450 discharge locations. Discharge locations are situated on the outside and inside of the Wide Oval. With a flipper plate products are directed to the correct location on the right or left under a discharge station. The sorter will be used to sort a wide range of sport articles to shop departments.

Equinox has launched a unique concept for rental of a sorter machine in the market. This concept can be interesing for:

1. distribution centres that have large peak periodes in their product flow.

2. distribution centres that do not have investment budget, but do have operational budget.

3. third party logistics companies that have short term contracts with their customer.

4. distribution centres that first want to test the sorter in their process before making a final investment.

The rental concept is at this moment only available in the Netherlands and Belgium.

After the implementation of the Line Sorter in September 2008 Docdata and Equinox have signed a contract for the delivery of a second Equinox sorter machine. This sorter can be used in two different sorting processes. It can be used for pre-sorting received goods on producttype to warehouse locations or directly to the inbound processes. Also the sorter can be used for extra capacity in processing customer orders. Unique with this sorter is that both processes can be operational simultaniously.
